Esperanza Cortés is a Colombian born New York based multidisciplinary contemporary artist who creates installations which incorporate sculpture, drawings, prints, paintings and video. Cortés has exhibited extensively in the United States in solo and group exhibitions in venues including The Neuberger Museum of Art, Bronx Museum of Art, El Museo Del Barrio. Internationally she has exhibited in Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Japan, Mexico, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Spain.

Cortés is a recipient of the Joan Mitchell Foundation 2014 Painters & Sculptors Grant, The Puffin Foundation and artist residencies at Sculpture Space, MoMA PS 1, Socrates Sculpture Park, The Fountainhead Residency, Miami, FL. and Bielska BWA Gallery, Bielsko – Biała, Poland. Esperanza’s work is in private and public collections with a recent acquisitions of sculptures by the Art in Embassies Program.
